Happpyyyyyy Earth Month (which in my opinion should be every month!!) I really hope that you enjoy this compilation of stories, articles and videos of women, families, companies and organizations that LOVE Mother Earth. On Earth Day, April 22nd 2016, let’s all commit to doing just a little more to help care for and respect this amazing planet that we call home. It’s truly up to us.

Super Soul Sunday – Marianne Williamson I am starting this one off BIG! Watch the incredible “spiritual luminary” Marianne Williamson talk about spirituality in relationships. ¬†2016 is the year for me to commit to and follow my spiritual path and that means honoring my body, mind and soul so that they can be the strongest and healthiest of my life. ¬†I hope you enjoy (and need) this Super Soul Session as much as I did. If I think I am just one wave in the ocean, surrounded by this huge ocean, how can I not be terrified of the ocean, how can I not be terrified of other waves, how can I not think other waves are going to completely overwhelm me? But if I realize, I am one with the whole freaking ocean. I move, it moves‚Ķwe are a powerful thing and I have no problem recognizing my oneness with the ocean because therein lies my power. Syrian refugee children transform Iraqi prison with art I am not going to say much about this …

In my #HopeForOurDaughters issue I bring you various stories of daughters across the globe that are spreading the feeling of hope, ¬†fulfilling their dreams and passions, taking matters into their own hands and showing us how the next generation (and some that have come before) is making this world a better place for all of us. ¬†First, however, I want to share the trailer of the film every woman (and man!) should see and background on some of the women we owe our lives to (literally)! Beautiful. ¬†Breathtaking. ¬†Disturbing. ¬†Necessary. Mothers, if they are old enough, take your daughters to go and see this film. ¬†It’s not a “feel good” film but it is inspiring and reminds us that we can accomplish ANYTHING if we believe in it enough and that ANYTHING is possible, especially if you have your girlfriends to count on and a huge amount of courage. SUFFRAGETTE MOVEMENT There were so many things I did not know about the movement before I saw this film…heck, I didn’t even know there was a …

When there are so many brutal things going on the world (I mean, what is going on in this world?) my escape is comedy. Milton Berle said, ‚ÄúLaughter is an instant vacation.‚ÄĚ I couldn‚Äôt agree more. The only thing better than a true, uncontrollable laugh, is being the source of someone else‚Äôs true, uncontrollable laugh. Laughter uplifts us. It boosts our immune system. It heals. It is a pure form of joy. As a stand up comedian, I am most inspired by the women out there who are the source of laughter and joy for so many of us. Don‚Äôt get me wrong, funny is funny ‚Äď and I can name countless male comics who make me laugh ‚Äėtil I cry. But the world of comedy is also predominantly male‚Ķand this isn‚Äôt ProjectMen.com. Monday Menagerie #19 is dedicated to comediennes¬†I admire and are rocking the comedy world. Samantha Bee NPR discusses the State of the Union for women in comedy and reveals why Samantha Bee is one of my heroes…here.¬†Samantha Bee will represent as a …

This is my BADASS WOMEN ISSUE #1. This issue was inspired by a friend who was requesting information on how to help refugees. ¬†I decided to dedicate this issue, and many more to come, to the women who are taking matters into their own hands, and making significant changes in the world where progress is desperately needed. ¬†They are not waiting for someone else to do it, they are stepping up where not many others will. ¬†Thank you badass women. ¬†THANK YOU. I know we all know that some really horrible things are going on all over the world and one of the worst is what is happening to the human beings who are trying to escape war – torn villages and cities to find a better life for themselves and their families. Here are some details below to help you figure out what is really going on and ways to help. We can’t survive alone, we must depend and rely on one another. WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON IN SYRIA WAYS YOU CAN HELP …

Women who WORK IT. There are way too many inspiring women out there to compile them all in one Menagerie, but¬†this is an itty bitty selection of women who stood out to me this past week.   Baddie Winkle. Holy smokes, I seriously adore this woman!!!! ¬†I know her¬†whole getup is purposefully¬†styled and meant to “impress” in a way, but you can just see the genuine spirit in this woman, the pure love for irreverence, silliness, and fun. ¬†I think it’s SO cool that her family takes part in this, and helps to share her sweet funness with the world. (check her Instagram, I was dying all over the place looking at it!!) (Shared by Kristin Tona)     ELIZABETH HOLMES She’s the “World’s Youngest¬†Self-Made Female Billionaire”. ¬†Yup. “She dropped out of Stanford her sophomore year in 2003 to found¬†Theranos, a company that develops more effective, easier-to-use blood tests. ¬†At the age of 31, Holmes was named the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire.” Read more and watch this¬†interview with her from Makers.   …

Monday Menagerie # 14

Our Monday Menagerie series was created so that we could curate stories from around the web that inspire, motivate, ignite, educate and entertain. I was so inspired by Tara Tona’s Instagram post a few days ago that I decided to make this week’s Monday Menagerie the “kind issue.” ¬†These stories are meant to be examples of how we can be more kind, where kindness and love are flowing right now and some stories so full of joy and beauty that you start to doubt that the “badness” even exists. I want to live each day as if things are getting better, not worse. Who’s with me?                     10 REASONS WHY INVESTING IN WOMEN AND GIRLS IS SO VITAL Let’s be kind to women, ya’ll. ¬†I mean seriously, why is it so difficult? ¬†If we could be a bit kinder to our women I think we would see a radical shift in the way people treat each other. It’s just my opinion but why don’t we give …

Monday Menagerie #10

FLOTUS pounds it out, Ronda Rousey knocks it out, Amy Schumer speaks it out, Broad City dances it out, and grown women in Hollywood ROCK IT OUT. ¬†Also.. babies, no-schooling, and a Pink Rabbits cover to dream about. FLOTUS “let’s move” You’ve probably heard about Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign, but have you seen this video? ¬†I don’t know if it’s appropriate to describe our First Lady as “kick-ass”, but she SO is. “Republican or Democrat.. How awesome is it that she just wants to make the nation healthier?! #somuchyes” ¬†–Kristin (shared by Kristin Tona) Ronda Rousey Is Unstoppable I received not one but two emails from my cousin (and Project:Women contributor) Kristin Tona about Ronda Rousey, a young woman who is shaking up–or more accurately, knocking out– the UFC world of fighting. ¬†I will let Kristin fill you in, she does it with such gusto!! “I love that it talks in the beginning about how the President of the UFC joked that women will never be in the UFC. ¬†But now here he is.. …

Monday Menagerie # 9

Rounding out July with some love from a top notch Father, Cosby women speak out, cool kicks, Moms speak and sign, an innovative comic, a must see list and an announcement like no other. Happy MONDAY MENAGERIE! A LETTER FROM ALBERT EINSTEIN TO HIS DAUGHTER If anyone knows anything about anything it’s Albert Einstein…am I right?? Being a Daddy’s girl myself, I read this letter from sweet Albert and got pretty choked up. Some theories never die and some, like this one, need to be addressed and revisited again and again. “If we want our species to survive, if we are to find meaning in life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer.” Even though it’s not Father’s Day anymore, hug or call your Dad today. The world needs Fathers who teach their Daughters about love and respect.   NEW YORK MAGAZINE COSBY COVER STORY COLLECTING THE ACCOUNTS OF 35 WOMEN On Sunday night, New York magazine released¬†a stunning cover story, …

Monday Menagerie #6

It was a week full of goodness, celebrations, BBQ and fireworks. Let us here at Project:Women give you some of the bright (and winning) highlights in our MONDAY MENAGERIE!!! USA WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM WIIIIIIINS If you missed this incredible game you can see the highlights in this one minute replay video distributed by Fox Soccer. These women will be written about in the history books because of how they played, how¬†hard they worked and for the love and respect they showed for each other. Way to go USA!!   LOVE CONTINUES TO WIN¬† Since the Supreme Court ruling on June 26th, love has been in the air… along with rainbows and debates… but mostly love. In keeping with this theme I wanted to share a beautiful video that a friend, Katie Clarke, created and composed in celebration of this historic time. She is a gifted pianist and I admire¬†that she chose to use her talent to celebrate and support equality and love. Check out more of her lovely work here:¬†www.katieclarkepiano.com   TALENT AND PERSEVERANCE …

Monday Menagerie #5

Just another week full of things that made us smile or made us think‚Ķ it’s the Monday Menagerie ūüėĬ†         …The good news you already heard about, but we are still celebrating! ¬†(From the Twitter accounts of The First Lady¬†and Hillary Clinton, respectively.)         Love Has No Labels This video speaks for itself. ‚̧   Architect’s future ‘Vegetal Cities’ merge nature with the man-made This is SO cool, I wish wish wish we could live in a world where this was reality. ¬†Maybe one day…     Why I Can‚Äôt Forgive Dylann Roof Roxane Gay writes so powerfully in this piece. ¬†Although I wish there were more conversations happening about what we as individuals, as a society, can do to help detect and prevent such atrocities from happening. ¬†They aren’t comfortable topics, but gun control and pharmaceutical drug control both need to be moved to the top of the list. Prescription pharmaceuticals¬†have been associated with all the major shootings of this nature in recent times. ¬†Perhaps we should …

Monday Menagerie #1

We are starting a new feature here at Project:Women– the Monday Menagerie. Every day¬†we find so much great stuff out there– articles, videos, images, stories, bits and pieces of brilliance– and we wanted a way to share those discoveries in a concise and convenient way on the blog. ¬†So each week I’ll publish this compilation of the things that made our ears prick up, our minds take note, and our eyes sparkle;¬†a cherry-picked basketful of goodness to get your week going! Mother Nature is Speaking This is the best short video I’ve seen all year (in any category). ¬†I had chills watching it, and was saying in my head “Yes! ¬†Hell yes!!!!” ¬†I have never liked¬†that over-used, empty phrase “let’s save the world”, and I can’t say just how refreshing and uplifting this take on Earth¬†consciousness is‚Ķ it feels genuinely empowering.¬† And the voice of Julia Roberts delivers this so beautifully, and with so much STRENGTH. http://natureisspeaking.org/mothernature.html (shared by Sara Godwin D’Ambrosio & Jamie Bullock) We Need to Stop Saying “Babies Ruin Bodies” Because mothers’ …
